We had a wonderful experience with Wilderness Excursion to Everest Base Camp. It has been an unforgettable trekking of 10 days in Khumbu Valley. Everything was very well organized by Pradip and his team. Many thanks to Guide Aital that was able to bring us to Everest Base Camp with safety and without any problem. He also arranged day to day accomodation finding best rooms. Many thanks also to Porter Chandra very strong and helpful during the track. It has been not only a trip into a fantastic natural environment but also we could meet and know more about splendid people and very unique culture. We also particularly appreciated Pradip honesty to explain every detail before the travel and for instance he signalled immediately that airplane to Lukla were not running from 1st April from Kathmandu but from Manthali and he immediately found an alternative solution for us. Thanks again !
There are hundreds of trekking companies in Kathmandu and prices are (often wildly) varied. So we really looked carefully at reviews before choosing Wilderness. And we had a great trip. Our various questions to Pradip before we arrived in town were promptly and truthfully dealt with. My wife and I travelled by ourselves. Our guide Aitel and porter Dorje were absolutely superb and a joy to be with. They helped out way beyond expectations. Their English was not brilliant but that was more than compensated for by their attentiveness and kindness. I would want to walk anywhere with them. Tsum Valley is beautiful (and some of the walking quite challenging) and long may it remain so. The big problem with the early part of the walk - that is also the beginning of the Manaslu trek - is that a road is being built by the Nepalese Army that is threatening to wreck that trek. Hopefully Tsum will not be damaged by it. We were not warned about this road and its progress that seriously impaired the second day of walking. Also there is a very dangerous landslide that we had to cross, at the entry to Chhokangparo, that travellers should also be warned about. We changed the itinerary a little as we went around the valley (due to weather and other trekkers' recommendations) and Wilderness were very relaxed about that and are flexible in sometimes demanding conditions. We liked their approach to this trek - to safety and planning. We thank them for helping us experience Buddhist Tsum and to really enjoy the trip (despite obstacles). We would recommend this company and would hope to use them again. All very best, Anthony & Jan
Booking this trek already was a pleasure! Pradip Tamang (director) arranged everything in excellent dialogue with us, always quick and relevant answers. We met our guide Rahul Tamang (not family) the day before the trek: nice guy and well-spoken English. He really felt what we wanted: we travelled with our 11 yr old daughter, and during the while trip he was very caring, arranging stays and rests according to our needs, always assuring safety. He really is a great guide, who knows his job. He also met respect from locals and fellow guides, wherever we went. The company is small, but absolutely reliable an accurate. We certainly recommend it.
We have done 3 Days Poon hill trek, and found it so beautiful and tough walk through the winding up hill trail, patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool your face? Around every corner is a tempting sight of the snowy peaks, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek. This trek in the Annapurna foothills to the astounding viewpoint on Poon Hill offers all the best of trekking in Nepal. Our narrowed Poon Hill Trek was arranged by Wilderness Excursion. Pradip Tamang runs his company and fast in replying our questions, gave us very reasonable price and saved our time. We advised anyone doing this rewarding trek that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature and beautiful landscape can use Wilderness Excursion for this short condensed trek to Annapurna. Enjoy!
We had an excellent time. We only had a short time to try some trekking and this walk was just one night away and a few hours walk each day which suited us perfectly. We had great views of the mountains for both sunrise and sunset. Accomodation was basic but clean and had own (western style) toilet. Pradip was an excellent guide - fun, relaxed and knowledgeable. The walk down through small villages and farmlets along 1000 year old paths was special in itself. Highly recommend. Easy to book and excellent information and responsive communication provided beforehand.
